With an overwhelming amount of (mis)information on social media, I have found these three science/medical communicators to be excellent sources of information. Their work is unapologetically honest, as well as insightful.

  1. Dr Guess's Blog by Dr Nicola Guess

Nicola Guess is a Scientist and Registered Dietitian based at Oxford University. She is an authority on the prevention and management of type 2 diabetes, regularly publishing research, but she writes about varied nutrition topics, addressing much of the misinformation in the space and on social media.

  1. Dr. Jessica Knurick

Jessica Knurick is a US-based scientist, dietician and science communicator. She writes about nutrition, science, and public health, as well as the policies, politics, and misinformation shaping them all. Her focus is on the US policy and politics side for the most part, but this is relevant world-wide, as the impact the current administration has had (so far) the health and research landscape will have far and long reaching consequences worldwide.

  1. The Vajenda by Dr. Jen Gunter

Jen Gunter is a US-based OB/GYN and the Vajenda is her hub for evidence-based information on sexual health matters. There is an abundance of valuable information on her site about hormonal health for women. In her own words, she also "battles medical misinformation and misogyny on social media."
